We are a specialist dental practice dedicated to providing the highest standard of endodontic care (commonly known as ‘root canal treatment’) to patients, typically referred by their general dentist.
At Apex we understand that the thought of root canal therapy can be intimidating. Whether patients come to us in pain or with previous negative dental experiences, patient comfort is always our highest priority. From consultation to follow-up, we ensure every stage of your treatment is expertly managed with care, compassion, and efficiency.
Endodontists are highly qualified dental specialists, having completed an additional three years of postgraduate training in root canal treatment. Using their extensive experience, advanced techniques, and state-of-the-art equipment, we are committed to delivering the best possible outcome for your dental health.
Wanting to move away from the Adelaide CBD, our principle endodontist, Dr Jonathan Christo, acquired a site in Adelaide’s leafy inner East in 2024, which he knew would be a convenient and accessible location to construct a custom built facility to match the high standard of care he strives to deliver.
Dr Deon Naicker
BDS (Wits), Postgrad dip Dent (UWC), FRACDS (GDP), MRACDS (Endo), Dip. PCD RCSI, DClinDent (Endo)
Relocating to Australia, Deon attained full Australian Dental Council registration whilst working for South Australian Dental Services. In 2014, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He then completed the postgraduate endodontic programme at the University of Adelaide 2017, and is a qualified specialist Endodontist.
Deon combines his private practice at Apex with his commitments at the Adelaide Dental Hospital and maintains a visiting practice in Northern Territory. Outside of work, Deon is passionate about volunteering and outreach charitable endeavours. He has previously worked with the Royal Flying Doctors Service in South Africa.
Dr Jonathan Christo
BDS, BScDent (hons), DClinDent. (Endo), FPFA, FICD
Jonathan practises all aspects of specialist routine and complex endodontic services. He is a past President of the Australian Society of Endodontology at both a state and federal level. Jonathan is a dedicated member of key professional organizations, including the Australian Dental Association, Australian Society of Endodontology, Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists, American Association of Endodontists, and the International Academy of Dental Traumatology. He has also been awarded fellowship from the prestigious Pierre Fauchard Academy and Internal College of Dentist (where he also serves as a current board member). Outside of his professional commitments, Jonathan enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife and their three children.
Dr Abhishek Mathew
After graduating, he spent three years gaining valuable clinical experience in regional Victoria before returning to Adelaide in 2024 to pursue specialist training in Endodontics at the University of Adelaide. Alongside his postgraduate studies, Dr. Abhishek is actively involved in undergraduate Endodontic education.
Abhishek has contributed to endodontic research and has published in various peer-reviewed journals. Dedicated to providing excellent, thorough, and personalised care, he is known for his gentle and compassionate approach to patient treatment.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Abhishek enjoys spending time with his wife, visiting the beach, travelling, cooking, and exploring cafes and restaurants.
